Hello and welcome to my coaching website.

During the past 30 years I’ve been helping individuals and groups communicate well and explore change, and it’s increasingly clear to me that how we relate to ourselves influences our capacity to relate to people and the world around us. I believe that improving these relationships is essential to our wellbeing as we live and work together, towards a more sustainable and equitable future.

Coaching can support you in building a better relationship with yourself as you move towards living the integrated and fulfilled life you want for yourself.

I am an accredited coach with Relational Dynamics 1st and an Institute of Leadership, approved Clean Coach with The Clean Coaching Centre.

In my experience, people usually come for coaching because they have an issue that they are finding too challenging to sort out on their own.

The first question I’ll ask you is “What would you like to have at the and of the coaching that you don’t have now?” This helps focus in on the purpose for the coaching, creating an intention that you can reflect on at the end of the session or sessions. And sometimes as new information emerges through the coaching process, your intention may change, and that will always be your decision. My role as your coach is to follow you, and when appropriate, ask clean questions that invite you to explore aspects of your intention in more detail, to get a clearer picture of what you want to happen.

HOW CAN CLEAN COACHING HELP?

I use a Clean Coaching methodology because in my experience the range of ‘clean’ processes and tools can ignite our imaginations by helping us see things from different perspectives and provide insights from different places. This helps us to reacquaint ourselves with what we already know through our conscious minds and discover and embody the new knowledge needed to move towards a more fulfilled, integrated life.

There are the metaphors we use to make sense of our experiences that help us access knowledge from our unconscious mind.

The physical space around us that as we move into and look from gives us different perspectives.

Felt sensations in our body can tell us things that when acknowledged give us valuable information.

The objects around us can inspire new thinking.

WHAT BROUGHT ME TO COACHING?

I was a participant on a Creative Industries project, and one of the things on offer was a series of coaching sessions, and as at that time I was uncertain of the direction I wanted for my art practice. The coaching experience reminded me what it feels like to truly listened to by someone who I felt didn’t judge me, have any expectations or assumptions of me, and accepted me as I am. I felt a sense of freedom to be myself, think out loud, supported by a coach who was curious, and that curiosity enabled me to be curious as I explored ways through my stuckness getting the clarity I needed to move forwards.

Being a Coach gives me the opportunity to give my clients that experience.

In terms of finding forward momentum, I was feeling like I'd lost my focus. Fiona's style of coaching is so intuitive, playful, and open-minded that I quickly found myself re-orientating towards my goals and retrieving my sense of direction in a really concrete, concise and carefree way. The intelligence and imagination that Fiona brings to her coaching is so all encompassing that positive change is inevitable and she has certainly become my go to coach for times when I go adrift.

An example of how clean questions help to get clarity-

When I was thinking about the content for this ‘homepage’ of my website I asked myself the clean question:

“What kind of content for this homepage is that content?”

“It’s content that gets the reader’s attention."

“And is there anything else about content?”

‘It’ has a conversational feel to it, and there are examples of the coaching approach I use, and I want it to generate curiosity so that the reader makes connections and wants to know more.

I asked a second clean question:

“And is there anything else about content?”

By asking this clean question there is an invitation to think more deeply about it because there is likely to be more information that will be useful as the coaching work progresses.

Let’s work together.
